The joint efforts of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) and the Ministry of Commerce, Industry & Tourism of Cyprus to promote Cyprus as a noteworthy services center continued with organizing a Business Forum in Bucharest on 13 November 2012.

The event was organized with the support of the Cyprus-Romanian Business Association which operates under the auspices of the CCCI, of the Cyprus Trade Center in Athens and with the assistance of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania.

The Forum met with big success giving the opportunity to Romanian enterpreneurs to be briefed about the investment opportunities in Cyprus as well as opportunities for cooperations between the businesspeople of the two countries. Present at the Forum was also the Ambassador of Cyprus in Romania Ms Popi Avraam, who made a general briefing about the current economic situation in Cyprus and the main topics managed by the Cyprus presidency of the Council of the European Union.

The broad participation of Romanian enterpreneurs in the forum showed the big interest for the development of cooperations with Cyprus as well as for expanding their business activities through Cyprus to the Middle East as well as other European countries.

The presentations at the forum covered the advantages provided by the Cyprus taxation system to foreign investors through the founding of international companies in Cyprus for investment opportunities both in Cyprus and worldwide.

An invitation was addressed during the forum to the Romanian Chamber of Commerce & Industry for a visit of Romanian businesspeople to Cyprus and in this framework the contacts will continue.
